Digital Product Manager - my.wakuli

Job description

Wakuli is turning the coffee industry on its head – for the better. How? By creating the shortest value chain in coffee and leveraging technology to connect. We source the highest quality specialty coffee straight from farmer-friends in Africa, Latin-America and Asia, and deliver it fresh to our customers through the high-tech and highly creative my.wakuli platform.

Our e-commerce company launched in Amsterdam in 2019, and we are currently serving over 7.500 households in the Netherlands on a weekly to monthly basis. Our goal? Supplying >1 million households in Europe with the best coffee while creating a living income+ for over 50.000 smallholder farmers by 2025.

YOUR ROLE:

We’re looking for an ambitious, data-driven and creative product manager for our my.wakuli platform. You will lead the product roadmap development and execution, manage a development team of 3 FTE (together with an external CTO) and be responsible for the creative and UI/UX design of my.wakuli . Reporting directly to the founder, you will lead the development of my.wakuli 2.0.

My.wakuli is our way of connecting with customers and, later on, connecting customers directly to farmers. Our plans with my.wakuli 2.0 are to:

  • Build a loyalty system that would make Pinduoduo jealous
  •  Build a feedback mechanism that enables farmers to receive feedback directly from the people drinking their coffee
  • Introduce a flexible data model that enables customers to schedule deliveries whenever and wherever they are
  •  Offer advanced customisation in terms of coffee types, grinds, and roasting profiles
  • Expand our referral system to reach viral growth
  • Include dynamic features improving customer loyalty with monthly activations
  • Turn our React web app into a native mobile app (and get as many downloads as we can!)

        Responsibilities:

        • Designing and managing the product roadmap of my.wakuli 2.0 and the back-end warehousing software that we built
        • Managing a team of 3 software development FTE's based in Manilla (together with a Netherlands-based external CTO)
        • Creating and managing feedback channels from operations, customer support and marketing to improve our digital products
        • Managing the relationships with external UI and UX designers
        • Scaling our development, digital design and data teams when needed

This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with experience in fast-growing and disruptive startups, who thrives on owning and delivering state of the art digital products

        Job requirements

        Skills and experience:

        • Proven leadership experience
        • Experience in working with development teams to execute on product roadmaps
        • Highly analytical and able to dive deep into the data while also able to recognise higher level trends
        • Previous exposure to high-growth consumer tech startups
        • 3-5 years experience in product management
        • Higher education (MSc/MBA) ability

WHAT WE OFFER? (in addition to more caffeine than you can handle)

Becoming part of Wakuli means making impact. We make sure that we not only spread happiness amongst our customers, but also to our employees. We consist of a small team of development entrepreneurs, start-up builders, impact marketeers, tech-nerds and FMCG gurus, and are always on the look-out for the next original ideas to reach more consumers and create more impact, whilst making old-time supermarket coffee obsolete.

          Additional Wakuli benefits:

          • Competitive start-up salary
          • Working in a young, flexible and entrepreneurial environment
          • As much of the best coffee as you could possibly drink
          • A BBQ-worthy terrace facing the Amsterdam IJ
          • Weekly fresh and healthy team lunches
          • Friday espresso-martinis and social events

We all love what we do – so if you like challenges, developing new skills, growing creatively and taking initiative, you’ll feel right at home as part of the Wakuli family.

At Wakuli, we have an inclusive culture and we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will therefore receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability or age.
