Your role

The search is on for new stellar baristas for our locations in AmsterdamYou thrive working alongside a team to deliver the best possible coffee experience in our first year of opening Wakuli stores. You will support and work closely together with the specialty coffee bar managers & our product team to bring Wakuli's promise of accessible specialty coffee to the streets. You are a proven people-person who takes pride in giving amazing service experiences and thoroughly enjoys connecting to the neighbourhood. You are customer-centric and believe in impact products with flawless execution, making every effort to give your customers exactly what they need. You excel in fast-paced environments and enjoy an inclusive, collaborative workplace, where your voice genuinely counts. And you love coffee, want to learn everything there is to know and will craft the best coffee drinks any first-time local as well as long-time Wakuli fan traveling from afar has ever tasted. 




Job requirements

What you'll own:

  • Craft the best specialty coffees and other drinks while serving all Wakuli customers with an accessible and energetic approach
  • Assist all customers in levelling-up their coffee game at home with the best advice on choosing from our variety of beans and pods 
  • Work with and maintain the best coffee equipment 
  • Ensure and control everything is in place to best serve customers every hour of the day 
  • Take care of the highest hygiene standards (HACCP) and waste management protocols
  • Be able to independently open and close the specialty coffee bar
  • Willingness to show new colleagues the ins and outs of the job on a needs basis
  • Full and complete knowledge and adherence to all product, service and brand training playbooks

What you'll bring

  • 1+ years experience in customer service, restaurant or retail position
  • Fluency in English and preferably (some) Dutch
  • Strong knowledge of, or willingness to learn quickly about specialty coffee
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Minimum 16 hours a week of flexible availability - of which at least a few shifts on Saturday or Sunday every month 
  • The ability to start early (6.30 am for our morning shifts)
